Read Aloud/Rocks and minerals

Today we wrote about are 10 mystery  minerals. 1 of them we think  is  graphite and another one is Calcite that doubles writing. We also are still  reading  Brendan Buckley's Universe And Everything In It.
Today we got to a really good part when he is going to try to meet his grandpa who he's never met.

Service and rock

This weekend all of us did a service to honor Martin Luther King Jr. A lot of people picked up litter on there block.  Some people raked leaves and a lot of other stuff!!!

Reading and Rocks/Minerals

We are learning a lot about rocks and minerals. And we are reading a book called LOVE THAT DOG.

LOVE THAT DOG is about poetry and were learning a little about poetry.

The Potlatch!

 At the potlatch there was a band called ninja foot, They were from the hot springs tribe. They played a big drum buffalo hide.  They brought in a hoop dancer their dance was amazing!

After that we were put into groups of ten to twelve then we went to places like a Feast,Art,Stories,More drumming and games. After that we did a swap for our Native art after that it was the end of the day. It went by so fast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spirit Quest

What is a Spirit Quest?

A Northwest Native American ritual that they do when they are twelve. They go into the forest to find they're spirit animal. An animal that will tell you what you will do things like a Whaler,Wood carver and fishermen etc.

Our class did a Spirit Quest. we all went outside for five minutes  and waited. It was cold! Many of us saw our spirit animals, but some did not.
